We’re Hiring – Experienced Full-Time Seasonal Farm Labourer
About the Property
We are a private farm property in Dufferin County, approximately 20 minutes from Orangeville. The 225-acre property includes forest, meadow, a developing fruit orchard, vegetable gardens, and ongoing native tree restoration.
We are seeking an experienced, capable individual to join our team and work directly with the Property Manager in maintaining and improving the land.
Role Overview
This is a physically demanding, hands-on role suited to someone with solid farm or land-based work experience who can work efficiently with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities
- Confident operation and routine maintenance of farm equipment (tractors, skid steer, small machinery)
- Orchard and garden work, including planting, pruning, weeding, and seasonal crop care
- Tree planting, pruning, and general land management
- Vegetable garden support and upkeep
- Property maintenance, including fencing, repairs, and light carpentry
- Trail maintenance and light forestry work (chainsaw experience is an asset)
- Seasonal work, including spring preparation and fall clean-up
- Working independently and alongside a small team to complete tasks efficiently
- Adhering to all on-site safety procedures
Requirements
- Proven experience in farm labour, landscaping, or land-based work
- Ability to operate equipment safely and confidently
- Strong work ethic and ability to manage tasks without close supervision
- Physically fit and able to handle demanding outdoor work in all weather conditions
- Reliable, organized, and detail-oriented
- Valid driver’s license and legally permitted to work in Canada
Position Details
- Full-time, seasonal
- 40 hours/week, Monday to Friday
- No weekends or holidays required
- $20-26/hour based on experience
- Opportunity to grow with the role over time
