snōw white laundry is a seasonal restaurant opening summer 2026 at 281 Water Street, downtown St. John's. small room and patio, short season, a chef's tasting menu built around what's good on this island, this season. we're hiring the team that opens it.
prep cook is a morning role. five days a week, may through october. you'll arrive before the kitchen comes alive — stock from the day before, mise for the day ahead, produce broken down, proteins portioned, sauces started. the work is tactile and repetitive in the best sense: a rhythm that makes service possible. mornings here are unhurried until they're not.
What You'll Do
- mise en place for evening service
- stock rotation, produce breakdown, protein portioning
- starting sauces and stocks for the line
- maintaining a clean, organized prep area and walk-in
- handing the kitchen over to the line cooks ready for service
What We're Looking For
- someone who finds the prep list satisfying rather than tedious
- knife comfort matters; speed is secondary to precision and consistency
- you don't need a fine-dining cv — you need the habit of leaving things better than you found them
- pride in the fundamentals is the whole thing
- food handler certification an asset; we will support you to get it if you don't have one
Compensation & Schedule
- $18.00/hour base
- five days a week, mornings
- seasonal: may through october 2026
- staff meal nightly, gratuity pool participation per role
