Business Intelligence Developer — Power BI / Power Platform
Greater Toronto Area (hybrid — 3 days in office) | Full-time, permanent | $90,000 – $113,000 CAD per year
About Us
BrydonGama is a Toronto-based IT recruiting and staffing firm, connecting organizations with high-caliber
technology and business talent. We are recruiting this role on behalf of an established manufacturing
company with operations across North America.
The Role
Our client is investing in its data and analytics capability — an enterprise data warehouse is being built, and
this role turns that data into decisions. We are hiring a Business Intelligence Developer with deep Power BI
and Power Platform expertise to design and deliver the dashboards, reports, and KPIs the business runs on.
You will work directly with business users across Canadian and US operations to translate requirements into
technical specifications, model the data behind the reports, and set the visualization standards for the analytics team. This is a hands-on build role with real stakeholder contact — not a ticket queue.
What You’ll Do
- Design and build rich, interactive Power BI dashboards and reports — data models, DAX, custom visuals, and row-level security — following data visualization best practices.
- Use Power Automate, SharePoint, and the broader Power Platform to build robust, automated reporting workflows.
- Translate business requirements into technical specifications, define KPIs with clear objectives, and monitor them consistently.
- Design and map multi-dimensional data models; contribute to data warehouse development and the improvement of existing ETL processes.
- Write and tune SQL queries; perform detailed analysis on deployed reports and datasets.
- Ensure the needs of US operations are represented in the overall data strategy — travel to US sites may be required periodically.
- Maintain strong documentation (models, parameters, algorithms) and run knowledge-sharing sessions;
help train new team members.
What You Bring
- 5+ years of experience with Power BI and BI systems — this is the core requirement.
- Expert-level dashboard building, DAX expressions, and report security implementation.
- Strong Power Automate and Power Platform skills for automated, robust reporting.
- Solid SQL and data modeling: dimensional models, database optimization, and data management
practices.
- Experience with ETL/ELT processing on SQL Server; exposure to the Microsoft BI stack (SSRS, SSIS, SSAS).
- Data warehousing experience, ideally with cloud platforms (Azure or AWS).
- Understanding of data governance, ingestion/extraction frameworks, and data security.
- Strong stakeholder skills: you can sit with a business user, understand the operation, and come back
with the right report.
- University degree in Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.
- Assets: Python, R, SAS, or VBA; NoSQL; big data architectures; manufacturing, supply chain, or
logistics environments; French language skills.
Additional Information
- Compensation: $90,000 – $113,000 CAD annually, plus comprehensive health, dental, and visionbenefits, retirement savings, and education assistance.
- Hybrid work model — 3 days per week in office, east Greater Toronto Area.
- Periodic travel to US operations may be required.
- A criminal and background check is required as part of the hiring process.
- This posting is for an existing vacancy.
- Artificial intelligence may be used to screen, assess, or select applicants for this position.
- We are an equal opportunity employer. Accommodations are available on request at any stage of the recruitment process.
