Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Junior Law Clerk to join our legal team. This entry-level position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in developing their legal career and gaining hands-on experience in a professional law firm environment. The Junior Law Clerk will support attorneys with research, document preparation, and administrative tasks, contributing to the efficient operation of our legal practice. Candidates should possess strong organizational skills, excellent written and verbal communication abilities, and a keen eye for detail.
Duties
- Conduct legal research using tools such as LexisNexis and Canlii to support case preparation
- Use of Clio
- Assist with drafting legal documents, including pleadings, memos, and correspondence
- Proofread and review legal documents for accuracy, clarity, and compliance with court standards
- Manage case files through organized filing systems and maintain accurate data entry records
- Support project management efforts by tracking deadlines and organizing case-related materials
- Conduct interviews with clients or witnesses as directed by attorneys
- Perform clerical duties such as answering phones, scheduling appointments, and managing calendars
- Assist with document review, summarization, and preparation for court filings or meetings
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information in accordance with firm policies
Qualifications
- Prior administrative or clerical experience preferred; legal internship or law school coursework is a plus
- Strong proofreading, writing, and research skills essential for accurate document preparation
- Familiarity with legal research tools such as LexisNexis and document management systems like iManage is desirable
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Proficiency in data entry, filing systems, and general office software (e.g., MS Office Suite)
- Effective phone etiquette and professional communication skills required for client interactions
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong project management skills to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Pay: $50,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
