Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Café Manager to lead our café operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a passion for food service, and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer experiences. This role involves overseeing daily operations, managing staff, ensuring food safety standards, and maintaining a welcoming environment for guests. Previous restaurant management, hospitality, or hotel experience, along with expertise in food preparation and team management, are highly valued.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily café operations, including food preparation, cooking, and serving to ensure high-quality service.
- Supervise and train staff members in food handling, customer service, and safety protocols.
- Oversee POS systems such as Micros POS for accurate cash handling and transaction processing.
- Lead team management activities including interviewing, hiring, scheduling, and performance evaluations.
- Ensure compliance with food safety standards and health regulations across all aspects of food industry practices.
- Coordinate kitchen activities to maintain efficient workflow and uphold quality standards in food industry operations.
- Handle customer inquiries and resolve issues promptly to maintain excellent customer service levels.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café environment in accordance with hospitality standards.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with suppliers as needed to ensure smooth operations.
- Lead by example in demonstrating leadership qualities such as teamwork, hospitality excellence, and professionalism.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in restaurant management or hospitality roles; supervising experience preferred.
- Strong background in food preparation, cooking, and food safety practices.
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Micros POS; cash handling experience required.
- Previous experience in food service environments including serving and barista experience is advantageous.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to lead a team effectively.
- Leadership qualities with experience in interviewing and team management.
- Knowledge of restaurant management best practices within the food industry.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and a professional demeanor suitable for hospitality settings.
