The typical salary range for this position is $90 200.00 - $135 400.00 annually. The base salary offered will be determined based on the candidate’s job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and internal equity considerations.
Your Mission
Reporting to the Director, Ecommerce Merchandising, you will play a key role in driving the ecommerce commercial strategy across METRO’s food banners.
You will be responsible for executing and evolving merchandising, promotional, and assortment strategies that drive sales, profitability, conversion, and basket growth across METRO’s ecommerce platforms and third-party marketplaces.
Working closely with your team and cross-functional partners, you will collaborate with Merchandising, Marketing, Operations, Catalog, Data, Artificial Intelligence, and IT teams to ensure the successful execution of commercial initiatives and deliver a best-in-class online shopping experience.
Key Responsibilities
Ecommerce Commercial Strategy
- Contribute to the development and execution of the ecommerce merchandising strategy across all food banners.
- Ensure alignment between ecommerce initiatives, category strategies, and financial objectives.
- Identify opportunities to drive sales growth, margin improvement, and profitability.
Promotions, Digital Merchandising and Customer Experience
- Develop and manage the ecommerce merchandising calendar.
- Optimize digital merchandising touchpoints and promotional placements across ecommerce platforms.
- Drive conversion, basket size, and impulse purchases through an engaging and effective customer experience.
Assortment and Commercial Performance
- Define and evolve the ecommerce assortment strategy across owned platforms and third-party marketplaces.
- Analyze key performance indicators, including sales, margin, conversion, basket size, out-of-stocks, profitability, acquisition, and retention, and recommend actionable improvements.
- Contribute to financial forecasting, budget planning, and growth initiatives.
Partnership Management and Innovation
- Drive the growth and performance of third-party marketplaces and strategic partners.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities to accelerate digital sales.
- Monitor ecommerce industry trends and recommend innovative solutions to enhance customer experience and commercial performance.
Leadership and Team Development
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of Ecommerce Assistant Category Manager.
- Act as a central point of collaboration between Merchandising, Catalog, Procurement, Marketing, Operations, Data, AI, and Technology teams.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Bilingualism (French and English) is required.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in ecommerce, merchandising, category management, or digital marketing.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Ecommerce, or a related field.
- Proven experience leading teams and influencing cross-functional stakeholders.
- Strong analytical, prioritization, and execution skills.
- Ability to influence and build strong partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Solid understanding of ecommerce KPIs and omnichannel retail environments.
- Proficiency with SAP, Power BI, and Microsoft Office applications.
