Day Group Timmins is looking for a Pipe Fusing Superintendent who is client-focused, and has proven knowledge of construction technology, documentation, methods, equipment, tools, and work procedures. The Pipe Fusing Superintendent will require a solid understanding of construction scheduling, cost control, QA/QC requirements, and excellent ability to supervise and direct groups in an efficient manner.
To be successful in our dynamic environment you must have knowledge of construction site operations, including Occupational Health and Safety compliance, proven leadership and problem-solving capabilities, and ability to meet deadlines on-time and on-budget will be an asset. If you are someone who also has excellent verbal and written communication skills, and can facilitate communication between subs, suppliers, and other project participants, then Day Group wants to hear from you.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2+ years in a leadership role
- Ability to react quickly to changing situations while remaining calm and give clear direction
- A strong ability to work with clients and project teams
- Strong communication, conflict resolution, and crew management skills
- Ability to work in different environments, often in outdoor conditions and remote camps
- Knowledge of computers for reporting
Skills and Responsibilities
- Lead and direct field crews in the safe installation and fusing of HDPE pipe
- Ensure all fusion and joints are performed according to specifications
- Conduct daily toolbox talks, maintain a clean work site
- Maintain daily logs of installed pipe, fusion reports, and other documentation
- Inspect and ensure proper maintenance of pipe fusing machines
