Thandi Auto is seeking a skilled and dedicated Automotive Mechanic to join our team.
We are a family-owned, well-established automotive shop in Surrey with a strong reputation for quality service and workmanship.
We are looking for a Level 1–2 Apprentice Mechanic or experienced technician who is reliable, motivated, and takes pride in their work. The ideal candidate is mechanically confident, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced shop environment. A strong team player with good communication skills and a professional attitude is essential.
We value hands-on automotive experience, strong problem-solving ability, and a solid foundation in vehicle repair and maintenance.

Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on a wide range of vehicles and machinery, including cars and trucks
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, schematics, and diagnostic equipment to identify issues accurately.
- Conduct maintenance tasks such as oil changes, brake repairs, engine diagnostics, electrical troubleshooting, and system inspections.
- Repair or replace components using welding, mechanical knowledge, and assembly skills.
- Follow safety protocols during all repair procedures to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.
- Maintain detailed records of repairs performed and parts used for each vehicle or piece of equipment.
- Communicate effectively with customers regarding repair needs, timelines, and maintenance recommendations to ensure high-quality customer service.
Experience
- Level 1–2 Apprentice Mechanic position (entry to intermediate level)
- Minimum 2 years of proven mechanic experience with strong knowledge of automotive systems.
- Strong ability to use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
- Experience with welding, electrical systems, or HVAC is considered an asset.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on quality workmanship.
- Professional communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and and lift heavy equipment
