Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Long Haul Truck Driver to join our transportation team. This role involves operating commercial trucks over long distances to deliver freight efficiently and safely. Duties
- Safely operate long-haul trucks across interstate and regional routes, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Load and unload freight using forklifts or other heavy equipment as necessary, ensuring proper handling and securement of cargo
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to identify maintenance needs or safety issues
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, mileage, and freight documentation in compliance with federal regulations
- Perform basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting when required to ensure vehicle reliability
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers regarding delivery schedules, route changes, or delays
- Assist with the operation of heavy equipment when needed for loading or unloading freight
Experience
- Proven experience in commercial driving, preferably with long-haul routes
- Knowledge of freight handling procedures and safety standards for heavy equipment operation
- Experience operating forklifts or similar heavy machinery is a plus
- Basic automotive repair skills are desirable for troubleshooting vehicle issues on the road
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with clean driving record
- Familiarity with federal and state transportation regulations and safety protocols
