Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Barista to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional customer service while preparing and serving high-quality beverages and food items. This role offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment, ensuring a welcoming experience for all guests. The position requires strong multitasking skills, attention to detail, and a passion for food service. Prior barista experience is preferred but not mandatory, as training will be provided.
Duties
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, teas, and specialty drinks using standard recipes and equipment
- Operate POS systems such as Micros POS for order processing and cash handling
- Take customer orders accurately and efficiently while providing excellent customer service
- Handle cash transactions, process payments, and give correct change
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area in compliance with food safety standards
- Assist with food preparation and food handling tasks as needed
- Restock supplies and ensure all equipment is functioning properly
- Engage with customers in a friendly manner to create a positive experience
- Follow health and safety guidelines related to food handling and sanitation
Experience
- Previous food service or food industry experience preferred, especially as a Barista or in serving roles
- Familiarity with POS systems, particularly Micros POS, is advantageous
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse guests
- Good time management skills to handle busy periods efficiently
- Basic math skills for cash handling, making change, and inventory counts
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
