Calgary Menopause Wellness is seeking an experienced Registered Acupuncturist (R.Ac) to join our dedicated team in supporting women through peri-menopause, menopause, and post-menopause.
At our clinic, we optimize women’s health during the menopausal transition at any age. Our mission is to empower patients through individualized, integrated care, utilizing tools employed by Medical Doctors and allied health professionals including, but not limited to, Naturopathic Doctors, Acupuncturists, Chiropractors, Physiotherapists, and more.
The successful candidate will provide acupuncture treatments and holistic support to address the physical, hormonal, and emotional symptoms associated with the menopausal transition.
Job Description
As a Registered Acupuncturist, you will provide acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM)-based care to women experiencing perimenopause and menopause. You will offer in-person care and develop individualized treatment plans that support hormonal balance, symptom management, and overall well-being.
Responsibilities
You will be responsible for:
- Developing and implementing individualized treatment plans focused on menopause-related symptoms
- Providing acupuncture treatments for concerns such as hot flashes, night sweats, insomnia, mood changes, anxiety, fatigue, and pain
- Supporting hormonal balance and nervous system regulation through acupuncture and adjunct therapies (e.g., cupping, moxibustion, lifestyle guidance)
- Educating clients on menopause, lifestyle modifications, and integrative care approaches
- Collaborating with physicians and allied health practitioners within an integrated care model
- Maintaining accurate, timely, and confidential clinical documentation
- Practicing in accordance with professional, ethical, and regulatory standards
- Maintaining up-to-date malpractice/professional liability insurance
Professional Standards
You must comply with the Health Professions Act and the standards of practice, guidelines, and code of ethics of the College of Acupuncturists of Alberta (CAA) or applicable regulatory body.
Membership in or certification with The Menopause Society is strongly preferred and considered a significant asset.
Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Acupuncture or Traditional Chinese Medicine from an accredited institution
- Registered and in good standing with the College of Acupuncturists of Alberta (CAA)
- Additional training, certification, or demonstrated experience in women’s health, hormonal health, or menopause care is required
- Strong knowledge of perimenopause and menopause-related symptoms and integrative treatment approaches
- Experience supporting patients with hormonal imbalance, stress, sleep issues, and chronic conditions
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to patient-centred and inclusive care
