Position: Roof Truss Builder – Truss Plant Assembly Worker

We are currently seeking a motivated and experienced Roof Truss Builder – Truss
Plant Assembly Worker to join our team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Position Summary
The primary responsibility of this role is to assemble precut wooden parts to build roof
trusses used in residential and commercial building construction. This position requires
carpentry experience, mechanical aptitude, and a general working knowledge of
machinery and equipment used in daily truss plant operations.
The successful candidate must be safety-conscious, physically fit, dependable, and able to
work effectively as part of a team.
Core Responsibilities
Move specified precut lumber parts to work area and position components in jig
by hand, following supervisor instructions and blueprint specifications.
Place metal reinforcement plates over connecting joints and secure parts using
hammer, pneumatic equipment, or other tools.
Verify dimensions of precut parts and accuracy of assembly using rulers, gauges,
and measuring tools.
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, work orders, and written instructions.
Start machines, adjust controls, and make trial cuts to ensure machinery is
operating properly.
Monitor machine operation and make adjustments to maintain quality and
production standards.
Adjust machine tables, cutting devices, and controls to produce specified cuts or
operations.
Install and adjust blades, cutter heads, boring bits, sanding belts, and other
machine components using hand tools.
Inspect pulleys, drive belts, guards, fences, and machine safety systems to ensure
safe operation.
Examine finished workpieces for smoothness, shape, depth-of-cut, angle, and
conformance to specifications using measuring devices and visual inspection.
Push, guide, or hold workpieces through cutting, shaping, or boring mechanisms
safely and efficiently.
Remove and replace worn parts, belts, blades, bits, sandpaper, or shaping tools as
needed.
Select saws, blades, cutter heads, cams, bits, or belts according to product
specifications and machine requirements.
Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of equipment, tools, and work areas.
Follow company safety procedures, quality standards, and production schedules at
all times.
Assist with other shop duties as assigned by supervisors.
Qualifications & Skills
Previous experience in roof truss manufacturing, carpentry, framing,
woodworking, or assembly shop work preferred.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and measuring tools accurately.
Experience operating woodworking equipment, saws, cutting machinery, or
related shop equipment is an asset.
Knowledge of general machine maintenance and troubleshooting.
Strong attention to detail and quality control.
Ability to work safely in a fast-paced production environment.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Reliable, punctual, and self-motivated.
Forklift experience is considered an asset (training may be provided).
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift heavy materials (up to 50 lbs or more).
Ability to stand for extended periods.
Repetitive bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, and manual handling.
Comfortable working in a manufacturing/shop environment with exposure to
noise, dust, and machinery.
Compensation & Benefits
Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8-hour shifts (occasional weekends as required)
Wage: Starting at $18.00 per hour (commensurate with experience)
