Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Formwork Carpenter to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for constructing, installing, and dismantling formwork for concrete structures on various projects. This role requires a strong understanding of carpentry, blueprint reading, and heavy equipment operation. The successful applicant will contribute to the safe and efficient completion of construction projects, ensuring high-quality concrete forms that meet project specifications. Prior experience in concrete forming, rebar installation, and masonry is highly valued.
Responsibilities
- Construct and install formwork systems using hand tools, power tools, and schematics to create molds for concrete pouring.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to ensure accurate formwork assembly.
- Operate heavy equipment safely to assist with formwork placement and adjustments.
- Install rebar reinforcement within formwork according to engineering specifications.
- Perform concrete finishing tasks once forms are set and poured.
- Conduct restoration work on existing structures as needed, including caulking and flooring installation.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure safety protocols are followed during all phases of construction.
- Perform heavy lifting and manual labor required for formwork assembly and disassembly.
- Maintain a clean work environment and ensure all tools and equipment are properly stored after use.
Experience
- Proven experience in carpentry, concrete forming, or related construction roles is preferred.
- Knowledge of mechanical systems, masonry, welding, and renovation projects is advantageous.
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, heavy equipment operation, and safety procedures on construction sites.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately.
- Experience with rebar installation, concrete finishing techniques, flooring installation, and restoration work is a plus.
- Prior work involving schematics interpretation and welding skills will be considered an asset. Candidates should possess strong mechanical knowledge, the ability to perform heavy lifting safely, and excellent teamwork skills to succeed in this dynamic role.
Pay: $21.36-$35.00 per hour
