Overview
We are seeking a motivated and dependable Carpenter Helper to join our construction team. This entry-level position offers an excellent opportunity to develop skills in carpentry and construction while supporting skilled tradespeople on various projects. The ideal candidate will be eager to learn, physically capable of heavy lifting, and comfortable working with hand tools and power tools. Prior experience in blueprint reading, concrete forming, or restoration is a plus but not required. This role provides hands-on experience in diverse construction tasks, including siding, concrete finishing, and woodworking, contributing to the successful completion of residential and commercial projects.
Responsibilities
- Assist carpenters and other tradespeople in constructing, installing, and repairing structures using hand tools and power tools
- Support with concrete forming and finishing tasks as needed
- Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and schematics to ensure accurate project execution
- Handle heavy lifting of materials such as wood, concrete forms, or siding materials
- Operate heavy equipment safely under supervision when required
- Assist with demolition, restoration work, or siding installation projects
- Maintain a clean and organized worksite to promote safety and efficiency
- Follow all safety protocols and guidelines during daily operations
Requirements
- Basic knowledge of construction principles; prior experience with carpentry or related fields is a plus
- Ability to read blueprints and schematics is desirable
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and woodworking techniques
- Capable of heavy lifting and standing for extended periods during work shifts
- Willingness to learn new skills such as concrete finishing or welding
- Strong work ethic with attention to detail and safety awareness
- Physical stamina to perform demanding tasks in various weather conditions
- Valid <PERSON> (or relevant identification) required for employment eligibility
