POP is a non-profit organization that supports adults with disabilities. We are seeking Full time Supported Living Workers for our Tisdale Location. Supported Living Workers assist adults experiencing intellectual disabilities to live meaningful, self-directed lives within their homes and communities. Employees support individuals in developing life skills, achieving personal goals, maintaining health and well-being, and participating fully in community life while promoting choice, dignity, independence, inclusion, and self-determination. The type and extent of support required by each individual is unique and will be identified within their Person-Centred Plan and measured through outcomes related to emotional, physical, and material well-being; intellectual and personal development; social inclusion; rights and self-determination; and community participation. Supported Living Workers work collaboratively with participants, families, co-workers, Program Coordinators, Program Managers, and community partners to support each individual's goals, aspirations, and quality of life. Support hours are determined by participant needs and agency requirements and may include days, evenings, weekends, holidays, and waking overnight shifts.
Qualifications include:
· Post-secondary education related to disability services, human services, social sciences, health sciences, rehabilitation, continuing care, or a related field is preferred.
· Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience will be considered.
· Experience supporting individuals experiencing intellectual disabilities, mental health challenges, or complex support needs is considered an asset.
· Demonstrated ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a team.
· Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills.
· Sound judgment, initiative, and problem-solving abilities.
· Ability to adapt to changing situations and participant needs.
· Strong organizational and documentation skills.
· Experience developing and implementing participant programming is considered an asset.
· Knowledge of person-centred planning, trauma-informed practice, positive behaviour supports, and inclusion principles is considered an asset.
· Working knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety practices.
