Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to work Monday to Friday for 8 hours per day from 9:00 to 5:00 or 5:30. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children, including those with autism, and possess the ability to educate, engage, and support their development. This role requires a proactive individual who can manage daily routines, meal preparation, and housekeeping tasks while ensuring a safe and stimulating atmosphere for our autistic daughter and her sister.
We have two girls who are 8 and 10 years old. Our 10 year old has autism/ADHD/anxiety. She is currently homeschooled and requires patient, full time care with crisis and violence prevention experience.
Duties
- Supervise and engage our daughter in age-appropriate activities that promote learning and development.
- Provide educational support by assisting with homework.
- Prepare nutritious meals and snacks for the family.
- Maintain a clean and organized household.
- Communicate effectively with us parents about daily activities, progress, and any concerns regarding our daughter.
- Foster positive relationships with our daughter to build trust and encourage open communication.
Qualifications
- Previous experience caring for children with disabilities and special needs.
- Strong caregiving skills with the ability to educate and engage children in meaningful ways.
- Proficient in meal preparation and cooking healthy meals for children and the family.
- Excellent organizational skills to manage daily routines effectively.
- Ability to navigate autistic meltdowns calmly and with compassion.
- Compassionate, patient, and reliable personality with strong communication skills.

We have had many nannies and support workers over the years for both our daughters. Our previous support workers became a part of our family and we are still long term friends with many of them. We are looking forward to meeting a new person to become a part of our engaging family and a big part of our daughter's life.
