We are a licensed nursery school located in the heart of Bloor West Village, Toronto, offering a warm, play-based, half-day morning program. Our five-morning-a-week program focuses on building the social, emotional, and early learning skills that help children confidently transition to kindergarten. About the Role
We are looking for a caring, dependable, and enthusiastic ECA to join our team. Working alongside our Early Childhood Educator (ECE), you will help create a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment where children can learn, grow, and thrive. This role is ideal for someone who genuinely enjoys working with young children, takes initiative, and values being part of a collaborative team.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Early Childhood Educator with daily classroom activities and routines.
- Supervise children during free play, snack time, outdoor play, and transitions throughout the morning.
- Daily cleaning of classroom toys/materials as needed.
- Support children's social, emotional, and developmental growth through play-based learning.
- Help prepare the classroom each morning and assist with cleanup at the end of the program.
- Assist children with handwashing, washroom routines, and other self-care needs.
- Prepare and serve the daily snack while following food safety practices.
- Maintain a clean, safe, organized, and welcoming classroom environment.
- Keep classroom materials, toys, books, and art supplies organized and easily accessible.
- Follow all policies and procedures under the Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA), as well as health and safety regulations.

- Knowledgeable about child development, early childhood education, or positive parenting practices (considered an asset).
Qualifications:
- Experience working with preschool-aged children in a nursery school, child care, or similar setting is preferred.
- Early Childhood Assistant (ECA) certification or current enrollment in an Early Childhood Education program is an asset but teaching or parental experience with children will also be considered.- Standard First Aid and CPR-C certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Current Vulnerable Sector Check (or willingness to obtain before employment).
Legally entitled to work in Canada.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
Schedule:
Monday to Friday
7:45am – 12:45pm
Five mornings per week
Closed on statutory holidays
