The Department of Sociology and Anthropology, Faculty of Arts at Mount Royal University, invites applications for a part-time sessional appointment for the Fall and Winter semesters in the area of biological anthropology.
We are seeking instructors with the ability to teach the following course(s):
This course introduces biological anthropology with an emphasis on evolutionary theory as it applies to humans. Primate anatomy and behavioural ecology, paleoanthropology, human biocultural evolution, and modern human diversity will be considered.
Date and Times
- Fall: September 3, 2026 - December 22, 2026
- Tuesday and Thursday 4:00 pm - 5:20 pm
- Winter: January 5, 2027 - April 22, 2027
- Tuesday and Thursday 11:30 am - 12:50 pm
- Instruction: course delivery including preparation of course outline, course activities, lesson preparation and assessments, and course D2L site; and
- Administration: submit course attendance sheets, course outline signature forms, input final grades upon course completion, and participate in scheduled program meetings.
- Master's degree in Anthropology or cognate discipline, with preference for applicants who are either pursuing Ph.D or those who have completed their Ph.D in Anthropology.
- A preference for candidates who incorporate critical anthropology, Indigenous ways of knowing, and/or decolonization into their core course content
- The successful candidate will be required to provide the University with academic transcripts from their degree-granting institutions. Employment contracts will be rescinded if the requirements are not met.
