Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Shipping and Receiving Helper to join our warehouse team. This role is essential in ensuring the accurate and efficient movement of goods, supporting overall warehouse operations, and maintaining inventory integrity. The ideal candidate will have warehouse experience, familiarity with shipping and receiving processes, and the ability to operate various material handling equipment. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment focused on order fulfillment, logistics, and distribution.
Duties
- Perform daily forklift inspections and safely operate forklifts for shipping, receiving, and material handling activities.
- Load and unload trucks, carts, windows, doors, glass, and other materials while ensuring products are properly secured for transportation.
- Prepare, organize, and load shipping and packaging materials to support production and delivery schedules.
- Assist drivers with deliveries, pickups, and material handling both at the plant and at customer job sites.
- Complete local deliveries and material pickups using company vehicles as required.
- Receive incoming materials, verify quantities, and organize products in designated storage locations.
- Create, prepare, scan, and distribute shipping documents, packing slips, and related logistics paperwork.
- Record product tag information accurately and maintain organized shipping and receiving documentation.
- Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic computer applications for inventory tracking, reporting, and document management.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shipping, receiving, and warehouse environment, including waste and recycling management.
- Ability to frequently lift, carry, push, and pull materials weighing up to 50 lbs and work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Skills
- Experience operating forklifts, reach trucks, or similar material handling equipment is preferred.
- Strong understanding of shipping & receiving procedures, order picking, and order fulfillment processes.
- Computer skills and experienced with Microsoft Office.
- Basic math skills for counting, measuring, and verifying quantities accurately.
- Ability to operate equipment safely following safety guidelines and protocols.
- Good organizational skills with attention to detail for inventory management.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy.
