The Territory Brand & Account Manager is responsible for driving market share, menu presence, and retail performance across a defined territory in Southern Ontario.
This role owns the execution and performance of Preferred Retail Partner (PRP) accounts, acting as the primary point of contact for store teams while ensuring strong brand visibility, staff engagement, and consistent product performance.
Blending account management, field execution, and brand representation, this role plays a critical part in influencing in-store decision-making and maintaining a competitive position within the Ontario cannabis retail environment.
Territory Scope
- Primary focus on Southern Ontario, including:
- GTA
- Surrounding regions (e.g., Durham, Peel, York, Halton)
- Additional Southern Ontario markets as assigned
- Regular travel required across territory, with occasional provincial travel for events
Key Responsibilities
PRP Account Management
- Own relationships with assigned PRP retail partners
- Conduct monthly account check-ins and business reviews
- Align with store leadership on:
- Product priorities
- Upcoming launches
- Promotional opportunities
- Ensure consistent brand presence and priority positioning within partner stores
Menu Influence & Assortment Optimization
- Review store menus regularly and provide strategic recommendations
- Identify opportunities to:
- Expand SKU listings
- Improve product placement
- Introduce new products
- Support partners in optimizing category mix and assortment performance
Market Share & Performance Management
- Monitor sell-through performance across assigned accounts
- Identify risks and opportunities to maintain or grow market share
- Support performance across key categories (e.g., pre-rolls, vapes, milled)
- Take proactive action to address gaps in distribution or velocity
Retail Execution & Store Coverage
- Maintain a structured cadence of store visits across territory
- Ensure:
- Strong in-store visibility
- Alignment with brand priorities
- Awareness of key SKUs among staff
- Act as a reliable, value-added partner to retail teams
Budtender Engagement & Education
- Deliver ongoing product education and training sessions
- Build strong relationships with budtenders to drive recommendation behavior
- Position products effectively against competitors
- Act as an in-market brand and product expert
Pop-Ups, Activations & Events
- Plan and execute:
- In-store pop-ups and vendor days
- Retail activations
- Industry and consumer events
- Represent the brand as a key face of the sales organization in market
Insights & Reporting
- Capture and report:
- Competitive activity
- Pricing and promotional trends
- Retailer and consumer feedback
- Maintain consistent reporting on:
- Store visits
- Account updates
- Activation outcomes
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with:
- Sales leadership
- Marketing team
- Trade and product teams
- Support execution of:
- Product launches
- Campaigns
- Territory-level initiatives
Work Environment
- Hybrid role consisting of:
- Field work (primary focus: store visits, PRP engagement, activations)
- Work from home (planning, reporting, virtual meetings)
- Frequent travel across Southern Ontario
Qualifications & Experience
- 2–5 years of experience in:
- Cannabis, CPG, or retail sales
- Field roles or account management
- Strong understanding of:
- Ontario cannabis retail landscape (OCS model, menu-driven environment)
- Proven ability to:
- Build and maintain strong relationships
- Influence retail partners and staff
- Manage multiple accounts and priorities
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel regularly within territory
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a field-based role
