Skilled Landscape Construction Labourer
Pay: CA$24.00–CA$28.00 per hour, depending on experience

What You’ll Be Doing:
As a Skilled Landscape Construction Labourer, you'll be responsible for independently completing landscape construction tasks while supporting the Foreperson in delivering high-quality projects safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
Hardscape Construction:
- Independently construct patios, walkways, retaining walls, stairs, fences, edging, and outdoor living features.
- Prepare excavation, base materials, grading, and compaction to industry standards.
- Install pavers, natural stone, concrete products, and wall systems according to manufacturer specifications.
- Ensure installations meet company quality standards, project specifications, and industry best practices.
Softscape Construction:
- Install sod, artificial turf, planting beds, trees, shrubs, and mulch.
- Assist with drainage systems, irrigation components, and decorative water feature installations.
- Complete final grading, soil preparation, and site finishing.
- Ensure softscape installations are completed accurately and to company standards.
General Responsibilities:
- Safely operate and perform routine care of landscape construction equipment, machinery, and power tools required to complete projects.
- Perform basic field math, including measurements, grades, elevations, slopes, square footage calculations, and material quantity estimates.
- Independently complete assigned landscape construction tasks with minimal supervision while maintaining quality workmanship and productivity.
- Follow project specifications, company standards, and installation procedures to ensure work is completed accurately and efficiently.
- Identify construction challenges and communicate concerns or potential solutions with the Foreperson.
- Work as part of a team to complete projects safely, efficiently, and within scheduled timelines.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe worksite in accordance with company policies and WorkSafeBC requirements.
- Load, unload, transport, and properly care for materials, tools, equipment, and machinery.
- Maintain a professional attitude and respectful communication with coworkers, clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
- Assist with seasonal duties, including snow removal and other tasks as required.d.
Who You Are:
You are an experienced landscape construction worker who takes pride in quality workmanship and enjoys building outdoor spaces.
You have:
- 2+ years of landscape construction experience.
- Experience with hardscape installation, including pavers, retaining walls, stairs, natural stone, or similar construction.
- The ability to complete skilled construction tasks with minimal supervision.
- Knowledge of proper installation methods, including excavation, grading, compaction, and finishing.
- Basic field math skills, including measurements, material quantities, grades, and slopes.
- Experience safely operating landscape equipment and power tools.
- Strong attention to detail and pride in producing quality work.
- Good problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing job site conditions.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs repeatedly and work outdoors year-round.
- Basic English communication skills.
- CSA-approved steel-toed boots and required PPE.
- Reliable transportation to job sites throughout Metro Vancouver.
Bonus Skills
- Valid BC Class 5 driver’s license
- Experience towing trailers
- Experience operating landscape equipment or machinery (skid steer, excavator, etc.)
- Rubber or gum boots for wet conditions
Physical Outdoor Work Expectations:
This is a physically active role requiring lifting, bending, and working outdoors in all weather conditions across Metro Vancouver.
