We are currently seeking a motivated and reliable Fire Sprinkler Technician Assistant to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start or grow their career in the fire protection trade.
Position Overview
The Fire Sprinkler Technician Assistant will work under the supervision of experienced journeypersons to assist with the installation, testing, maintenance, and repair of fire sprinkler systems. The successful candidate will gain valuable hands-on experience and may be eligible to register as a Sprinkler Fitter Apprentice (Trade Code 427A) with Skilled Trades Ontario.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the installation and repair of fire sprinkler systems
- Help with pipe layout, cutting, threading, and fitting
- Support technicians during inspections and testing
- Maintain tools, equipment, and job site organization
- Follow all company and safety procedures, including Working at Heights and WHMIS regulations
- Perform other duties as assigned by the lead technician or supervisor
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn
- Valid G class driver’s license with a clean abstract and must own a vehicle
- Ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Previous experience at a Fire Protection field is highly recommended.
- Previous construction or trade experience is an asset but not required.
