Inwards Market is a metaphysical store in downtown Victoria BC selling crystals and sacred gifts, hosting personal and spiritual development workshops and offering services such as tarot readings and energy healing. We are looking for a Store Assistant Manager. Experience with retail management is a must and a passion for the personal and spiritual development is a huge asset. Must have an understanding of the downtown core and be comfortable working in such an environment.
20 - 35 hours per week based on availability.
Wage is base salary
Responsibilities:
1. Staff Leadership & Development
- Assist in hiring, onboarding, and training new associates
- Schedule employee shifts and delegate daily floor tasks.
- Motivate the sales team to meet and exceed daily, weekly, and quarterly sales metrics.
2. Spiritual & Specialized Customer Service
- Create an inviting, peaceful, and energetically supportive environment for customers and visitors.
- Provide personalized recommendations for products like crystals, tarot decks, incense, and spiritual books.
- Help and educate customers on metaphysical concepts and holistic practices.
3. Inventory & Merchandising
- Monitor stock levels for specialized items, process incoming shipments, and request reorders for fast-selling products.
- Design, build, and rotate merchandise displays to highlight featured items and holidays.
- Handle pricing, labeling, and periodic physical inventory counts.
4. Store Operations & Administration
- Oversee opening and closing procedures, secure the premises, and reconcile cash registers.
- Assist in generating and reviewing daily, weekly, or monthly sales reports.
- Handle complex customer complaints or escalated issues to ensure client satisfaction.
5. Event & Workshop Coordination
- Help schedule and coordinate in-store events, such as tarot readings, meditation classes, or energy healing workshops.
- Set up physical spaces for practitioners or guest speakers.
- Manage social media and newsletter
Skills:
- Strong organizational skills to effectively support day to day store opperations
- Proven ability to upsell products and maximize sales opportunities
- Ability to conduct product demonstrations and provide detailed information about products
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to build rapport with customers
- Basic skills for cash handling and inventory managementAssets:
Assets:
- Knowledge of crystals and spiritual products (ie, sage, dieties, incense)
- Ability to work alone as well as part of a team
- Ability to problem solve and stay present
