This is a physically demanding job. Security film requires strength and leverage for optimal installation; expect to require less time at the gym to achieve the same results. Whether you are starting your career or are an experienced installer ready to lead, we have a role for you.
Responsibilities
- Install security films on flat glass in residential, commercial, and construction settings.
- This position also involves installation of other film types such as vinyl, solar, decorative, perforated, and printed films on flat glass, walls, or signs.
- Maintain the highest standards of quality, safety, and client satisfaction.
- Problem-solve on-site, adapting to challenges while providing creative, effective solutions.
- Collaborate with team members, learning from or mentoring installers depending on your level:
- Training Level: Entry-level – learn practical knowledge in a classroom setting with skills learning and practice in the shop. On site training and practice following the guidance and leadership of experienced installers.
- Level 1: Graduate to more autonomous work and gaining experience handling various different materials, as well as different working conditions, challenges and equipment.
- Level 2: Advanced – perform complex installations, mentor Level 1 installers, and manage challenging sites. At this stage, you will be working both on a team, or installing a full job on your own, and have opportunities to advance leadership skills.
- Level 3: Expert – Perform specialty installations, supervise and mentor highly technical installations, and liaise with clients professionally.
- Use digital tools to document projects, record installation notes, and manage client information.
Qualifications & Skills
- Training Level: Motivated, detail-oriented, willing to learn. New graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Level 1: Grasps the fundamentals to move through job sites and is an excellent helping hand on sites. Learn by doing experiments in the shop to solidify technique and read film.
- Level 2: Experienced installer, capable of advanced installations and mentoring junior staff.
- Level 3: Expert-level installer with a wealth of information related to glass, film and install techniques.
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license and reliable transportation (company vehicles provided for job sites).
- Physically fit with full range of motion.
- Comfortable with ladders, scaffolds, and physical installation work.
- Strong communication skills in English.
- Experience in print, vinyl plotters, Illustrator/Composer, or construction is an asset.
- Ability to read architectural plans/specifications is an asset.
- Goal-oriented, self-motivated, and able to work independently.
