Smith's Furniture & Appliances is looking to hire a few great Delivery Helpers. Deliver Helpers is the second person on the delivery truck who supports the driver, controls the paperwork, calls the customers and helps move furniture from one location to another. The following is a list of duties
- Complete deliveries and pick-ups at store locations and at customer’s homes
- Inform office staff about any delays that occur during the daily run
- Notify customers of deliveries to confirm delivery times
- Unload merchandise at the store locations
- Perform occasional pick-ups from other locations to the main store
- Ensure delivery receipts are signed and forwarded to the main office
- Help unload trailers in the warehouse during slower periods
- Perform minor repairs to merchandise in customer’s homes
Qualifications
- Experience safely lifting weights between 50-200 lbs repeatedly using safe lifting techniques
- Familiar with hand-trucks and ratchet straps
- Experience working in a professional environment with a focus on safety and prevention
- Experience moving furniture for residential clients considered an asset
- Certificate of clearance from the RNC required
Smith's pay is above average and includes medical and dental plan and paid vacation. Employee's are also eligible for discounts on furniture and appliances.
