Position Conditions: This is a temporary summer position, 36.25 hours per week. This position will be offered in accordance with conditions identified in the Collective Agreement between the City of Brandon and CUPE Local 69.
The successful applicant must maintain legal eligibility to work in Canada. If the successful applicant possesses a work permit, it is their responsibility to ensure the permit remains valid.

Rate of Pay: $17.78 per hour ( 2026 Rates)

This competition will include testing and an interview.
PURPOSE OF POSITION
Are you looking to gain valuable work experience in your area of study? The Network Administrator Summer Student offers exposure to various technologies and industry insights that few other summer jobs can.
Reporting to the Manager of Application Support & Project Management, the Network Administrator Summer Student’s role is to assist in defining, analyzing, developing, testing, and maintaining software in support of the achievement of business requirements. This will be accomplished through building and sustaining the organization’s applications in an expert manner.
TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist with design and maintenance of the various city devices
- Assist in deploying printers and end points
- Assist in resolving service request tickets
- Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Grade 12, G.E.D., or Mature High School Diploma
- Currently enrolled in a related post-secondary program with a recognized technical training institute
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Demonstrate excellent troubleshooting skills
- Demonstrate excellent customer service skills
- Demonstrate fundamental skills in computer networking
- Demonstrate fundamental skills in end point management
