Maintenance Technician / Building Operator – Multi-Family Residential

About the Role
We are seeking a reliable, motivated, and experienced Maintenance Technician / Building Operator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and operation of multiple multi-family residential buildings, ensuring our properties are well-maintained, safe, and provide an exceptional living experience for our residents.

Responsibilities
- Perform daily inspections of building systems and common areas.
- Complete maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner.
- Perform general repairs including:
- Plumbing
- Electrical (basic troubleshooting)
- Drywall and painting
- Carpentry
- Appliance repairs
- Door and hardware repairs
- Conduct preventative maintenance on building equipment and systems.
- Maintain mechanical rooms and ensure equipment is operating efficiently.
- Coordinate and oversee contractors when required.
- Perform suite turnovers, including repairs and touch-ups.
- Respond to emergency maintenance calls after hours on a rotating basis.
- Ensure buildings comply with health and safety standards.
- Assist with seasonal maintenance, including snow removal coordination and grounds maintenance.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and work orders.
- Build positive relationships with residents while providing excellent customer service.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of maintenance experience, preferably in multi-family residential buildings.
- Building Operator certification is considered an asset.
- Strong knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general building maintenance.
- Ability to troubleshoot and solve maintenance issues independently.
- Experience using maintenance software or work-order systems is an asset.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence with a clean driving record.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding work.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

- Monday to Friday
