Position Overview
Becker Mining Technology Ltd. (a part of the Becker Mining Systems Group of Companies) is currently searching for a Manufacturing Technician to join our high-energy Manufacturing team. Reporting to the Production Manager, this role will be responsible for the assembly, testing, troubleshooting, and repair of our VHF/UHF/LTE products. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and energetic individual ready to start or continue their career in the underground mining wireless communication field, working well in a team environment with minimal supervision. Forming part of the Becker Mining Systems group of companies, we offer a wide variety of mining-related products and our continued growth in local and global customer bases has created the need for additional personnel.
Essential Job Functions
Responsibilities
- Fabricate and test products according to Varis Manufacturing Procedures and the Quality Manual in a timely manner.
- Repair manufacturing rejects and field failures.
- Maintain the manufacturing area, tools, Manufacturing Procedures, and Quality Manual so that safety, quality, and production standards are met.
- Support the Engineering department in product development and R&D.
- Report to the Production Manager daily.
- Help other team members when required, and help cross-train others.
- May be required to work overtime.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements
Qualifications
- Electronics Technician diploma, Technologist diploma, or equivalent.
- 2 to 5 years' previous experience in a similar position.
- RF knowledge is a definite requirement.
- Knowledge of switch mode power supplies is a requirement.
Job Requirements
- Great, demonstrated written and verbal communication skills.
- Good, demonstrated computer skills, including good knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Must be able to lift 25 kg.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills; ability to read schematics and troubleshoot circuits.
- Good organizational skills.
- Proficiency in English a must; other languages an asset.
- Good surface mount soldering skills.
- Good mechanical aptitude and comfortable using hand tools, drill press, and hammer.
- Familiarity with spectrum analyzers, vector network analyzers, VOM meters, and oscilloscopes.
- Willing to bring solutions and ideas to improve products and processes.

Pay: $55,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
