Position Summary:
Reporting directly to the Purchasing Manager or another designated individual, the Purchasing Administrator – Summer Co-op will provide administrative support to the Purchasing department by assisting with purchase orders, vendor documentation, record keeping, and other procurement-related activities. Working closely with Purchasing, Production, Quality, and other internal teams, the successful candidate will help ensure purchasing processes are completed accurately and efficiently while gaining practical experience in a manufacturing environment. This is a full time, onsite temporary summer co-op position ending in August 2026.
Key Responsibilities:

Assist in processing and filing purchase orders, contracts, and vendor documents, including both paper and electronic files.

Maintain manual and computerized purchasing records, including items purchased, costs, deliveries, and inventories.

Support the preparation of reports by compiling data from purchasing records.

Help track delivery schedules and confirm receipt of ordered items.

Coordinate with vendors and internal teams for basic information and documentation requests.

Support communication with vendors, Quality, and Production teams to resolve issues related to defective or unacceptable goods or services.

Ensure procurement paperwork is complete and accurate.

Handle general administrative tasks such as scheduling meetings and preparing correspondence related to purchasing.

Support compliance by ensuring purchasing processes follow company procedures.

Perform other administrative duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
-
Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or a related field.

Must be eligible to participate in a recognized co-op or internship program and provide documentation or approval from their educational institution confirming the work placement requirements.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Previous administrative or customer service experience is considered an asset.

Experience with ERP systems or purchasing processes is an asset.
Work Term Details:
Start date: June 2026
End date: August 2026
Full-time hours: Approximately 40 hours per week
Schedule: Monday to Friday, day shift (8AM-5PM)
