Overview
Toronto Basketball Academy is hiring instructors to deliver weekly group sessions and private training for athletes aged 8–12 at Glendon Athletic Club. Coaches operate within a 1:5 coach to athlete environment and are expected to maintain a consistently high standard of instruction.
Responsibilities
- Lead weekly group training sessions and private training sessions with athletes aged 8–12
- Deliver structured, on time, and well prepared instruction at every session
- Create a positive and encouraging environment where every athlete feels supported
- Communicate professionally with athletes, parents, and program leadership
- Maintain a safe, focused, and engaging training environment
- Track and support each athlete's individual development across the program
- Represent Toronto Basketball Academy with the standard of professionalism expected of the program
Skills Required
- Strong basketball fundamentals across offense, defense, shooting, and ball handling
- Demonstrated ability to teach and develop young athletes
- Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Group management and instructional presence on the court
- Reliability, punctuality, and professional conduct
- Eligibility to work in Canada
Preferred Qualifications
- Competitive basketball playing experience
- Prior coaching experience in youth basketball or another youth sport
- Standard First Aid and CPR certification
Pay: $30.00-$35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 12.0 – 24.0 per week
