Trauma-Focused Private Practice | Part-Time with Growth Potential
Pay: $90.00–$130.00 per hour
Genovese Trauma & PTSD Recovery is seeking a Registered Psychologist or Provisional Psychologist to join a boutique, trauma-focused private practice in Glenora, Edmonton.
The practice is led by Maddalena Genovese, Registered Psychologist, a trauma specialist with over 17 years of experience in the assessment and treatment of trauma and PTSD.
Exceptional Registered Clinical Social Workers with advanced training and significant experience in trauma-focused therapy may also be considered.
This is an opportunity to build a part-time private practice with clear growth potential within an established, highly regarded clinical setting.

Genovese Trauma & PTSD Recovery specializes in trauma and related conditions, using evidence-based approaches including EMDR, Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), and Prolonged Exposure (PE).
Under the direction of Maddalena Genovese, the practice has developed a strong reputation for focused, high-quality trauma care, attracting clients seeking depth-oriented psychological treatment.
The clinic operates from a thoughtfully designed space in a character home in Glenora, offering a calm, professional, and discreet environment.
Position Overview
- Independent Contractor (fee split)
- Part-time to start
- Evening availability required (i.e., 5:00 - 9:00 PM)
- Opportunity to expand caseload and clinic days based on consistency, clinical alignment, and client retention
Compensation is based on a fee-split independent contractor arrangement. Estimated hourly earnings vary depending on registration status, services offered, and caseload development.
Clinical Focus & Fit
While trauma is the foundation of the practice, this role is particularly well suited to clinicians whose work complements and expands the current clinical focus.
Areas of alignment may include:
- Trauma-informed couples or relational therapy
- OCD and anxiety-related disorders
- Insomnia and sleep-related concerns
- Men’s mental health
- Sexual health and intimacy concerns within a trauma informed framework
- Attachment-based or somatic approaches
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology from an accredited institution (Psychologist applicants)
- Registered Psychologist or Provisional Psychologist in Alberta
- Registered Clinical Social Worker in Alberta with advanced training and significant experience in trauma-focused therapy (for social work applicants)
- Demonstrated training in, and commitment to, trauma-informed clinical practice, with preference for clinicians who have pursued advanced or specialized training (e.g., EMDR, CPT, PE, or related modalities)
- Previous experience working in a clinical setting grounded in trauma-informed care, with comfort supporting clients with complex or layered presentations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, supporting effective client care and collaboration with other professionals
- A compassionate, attuned clinical approach, with a strong commitment to ethical standards, professional boundaries, and patient confidentiality
- Strong clinical judgment, organization, and ability to work both independently and within a professional practice setting
- Reliable and consistent availability, particularly for evening hours
