Job Overview
The Swamper will be responsible for assisting drivers and equipment operators with the safe and efficient handling of materials and supplies. This includes loading and unloading cargo, securing loads for transport, and providing directional support during vehicle maneuvers. The role requires physical strength, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to teamwork and safety. The Swamper will work in various weather conditions and fast-paced environments, contributing to the smooth operation of daily logistics.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Assist drivers with loading and unloading materials, equipment, or supplies.
- Secure loads properly to ensure safe transportation.
- Provide guidance to drivers when maneuvering vehicles in tight spaces.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Follow safety procedures and follow company policies.
- Support other team members as needed.
Job Requirements
- Reliable and punctual.
- Should have reliable transportation to get to/from work.
- Ability to handle daily challenges with a hands-on approach.
- Adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Strong prioritization and multitasking skills.
- Effective time management and organization.
- Ability to follow instructions and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Comfortable with repetitive tasks.
- Must adhere to all safety protocols, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Safety vests are provided by the organization; however, employees are required to supply their own steel-toe footwear.
Qualifications and Skills
- Ability to lift heavy objects (100-150 lbs) repeatedly throughout the day.
- Comfortable working in all weather conditions.
- Strong work ethic and ability to follow instructions.
- Good communication skills and teamwork mindset.
- Valid driver’s license (preferred but not required).
- Previous experience in a similar role is an asset but not required.
