About the Role
We are seeking a compassionate, organized, and confident Patient Care Coordinator to join our Edmonton & area clinics. You will be the first point of contact for our patients and play a critical role in creating a seamless and supportive patient journey from first call to ongoing care.
Our clinic works extensively with provincial and federal third-party payers, making attention to detail and comfort navigating coverage processes essential. You will help patients understand funding pathways, billing frequencies, required documentation, and insurance coordination.
This position is open to applicants from a range of administrative, healthcare, or customer service backgrounds. It may be especially appealing to individuals currently in a Hearing Aid Practitioner program, as the role provides exposure to administrative processes and patient interactions that support long-term success in the hearing care field.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet and support patients in person and by phone
- Manage appointment scheduling, confirmations, and recalls
- Perform outbound calls and cold calling for appointment booking and outreach
- Navigate and process billing with provincial and federal third-party payers
- Verify coverage eligibility and explain funding clearly to patients
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
- Support clinic flow and assist Hearing Care Professionals
- Process payments and perform general administrative duties
- Provide professional, empathetic service to individuals with hearing loss
Qualifications
Required:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Confidence on the phone, including outbound/cold calling
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
- Professional, compassionate demeanor
- Comfortable using computers and common software programs
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook
Preferred:
- Experience in healthcare administration
- Experience working with insurance or government funding programs
- Enrollment in or completion of a Hearing Aid Practitioner program
- Experience using Sycle Audiology Office Management Software or similar clinic management/CRM software
