Olive Grove Childcare is seeking a Full-time Floor Supervisor at one of our North Vancouver schools.

This Floor Supervisor role is for someone loving, passionate, positive and a born to lead Educator. You are an excellent communicator.
Its premise is based on three tenants - Integrity - Purpose- Growth. You preferably have your degree in Early Childhood Education paired with your ECE licence with the BC Registry. We will also consider applicants who have their ECE diploma with 1+ years in leadership. The position approximately is 90% on the Floor with the kids and co-teachers and 10% committed to Administration and office work. It's perfect for an Educator who wants more experience in a leadership role and is ready to take the leap. Understanding and implementation of the ELF and code of Ethics is expected.
Your position will be co-teaching with two other licensed Educators. Some of the duties you will be performing include (but are not limited to):
Child Engagement and Guiding and Caring
- Maintain active supervision of the children at all times.
- Work towards positive attachment with children
- Assist, model, and coach children on key developmental milestones: eating, dressing, toileting, care for environment, healthy socialization, etc.
- Carry out specialty programs (baking, gardening, music, gymnastics, etc.) in order to encourage children to express their creativity through art, dramatic play, music, physical activity etc.
- Develop and plan weekly childcare programming, independently and with co-educators, display monthly curriculum to follow development of children. This may include attending monthly planning meetings.
Communication/Problem Solving
- Observe children’s learning and behavioural progress – report to parents/guardians on any areas of concern.
- Daily, mindful, written documentation of childrens’ activities shared via HiMama.
- Communication with families during pick up/drop off (or throughout the day when needed), checking messages/emails, and phone messages daily.
- Communicate with team and families on ways to improve children’s learning progress and growth.
- Completing yearbooks/wonder journals for each child to display learnings and projects over the year.
- Creating, documenting, and implementing Olive Grove’s Behaviour Management Plan for children who are having behavioural challenges. Work with families and staff towards a proactive and positive solution.
Collaboration/Teamwork
- Maintain collaborative relationships with the team. Working together to resolve conflicts.
- Abide by all licensing requirements of BC. Keep up to date on the Act regulations with your co-educators.
- Work with the team, sharing the delegation of responsibilities, and productive communication with co-workers.
- Open to helping other classrooms when needed.
- Attend team meetings, staff meetings and Pro D Day workshops.
- Take initiative when needed to provide continuity of classroom.
Environment
- Provide a positive environment for co-teaching and nurturing children together.
- Ensure environment abides by licensing requirements: sanitized, fill out incident reports, monthly fire drills, the well-being/safety/care of children and families at Olive Grove.
- Maintain the classroom and ensure the health, security, and safety of the children.
- Prepare snacks and arrange the classroom and/or furniture, ensuring the space is clean and inviting to promote a healthy learning environment.

- Energetic, well rested and enthusiastic when at work.
- Dress appropriately
- Abide by cell phone policy
- Comes to work on time and ready to start shift.
In addition to these responsibilities, you will also be expected to:
- Carry our Administrative duties in the absence of the Centre Manager
- Perform on the floor leadership duties to assist in training, team building, coaching and delegating to your team.

Pay structure is $24.10 - $25.10 per hour PLUS $6 per hour Wage Enhancement.
