Job Summary
Everest Nurseries, a long established wholesale and retail operation with 40 years of growing hardy nursery stock, is seeking a detailed-oriented and experienced Bookkeeper/Office Manager to join our team.
This role requires a strong background in accounting and bookkeeping, with proficiency in accounting software. The Bookeeper will play a crucial role in supporting the team and contributing to the overall success of the organization.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing administrative tasks, maintaining financial records, and ensuring efficient office functionality.
This role if primarily office-based with some flexibility to work from home in the winter.
Duties
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections.
- Perform account reconciliation, bank reconciliation, and account analysis to maintain accurate financial records.
- Maintain accurate bookkeeping records using accounting software such as QuickBooks Pro.
- Process payroll accurately and on time, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, including T4's, ROE's, source deduction and WISB reporting.
- Assist in preparing year end financial reports and statements for management review.
- Coordinate office supplies inventory and manage vendor relationships.
- Oversee some office operations and administrative functions to ensure efficiency.
- Provide occasional support to other departments as needed, fostering a collaborative work environment.
Skills
- Proficiency in accounting software QuickBooks Pro is essential.
- Knowledge of accounting principles and practices including payroll processing, bookkeeping, accounts payable/receivable is essential.
- Excellent skills in account reconciliation, bank reconciliation.
- Organizational skills with attention to detail to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Strong communication skills to interact with team members and external stakeholders professionally.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word) for reporting and documentation purposes.
Salary negotiable based on experience and qualifications
Full Time initially. Hours negotiable.
Flexible work arrangement in winter months
