Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Landscape Labourer to join our team and assist with a variety of outdoor construction projects. This role involves working in diverse environments to support landscape design, installation, and upkeep. The ideal candidate will have a passion for outdoor work, have a good work ethic, be punctual and a strong attention to detail.
Responsibilities
- Assist with landscape installation including prepping for hardscape projects, sod laying, and soil preparation, laying pavers, retaining walls. Shovelling snow during winter months.
- Operate hand tools and power tools safely for tasks such as digging, trimming, and edging
- potential for use of excavators and other heavy machinery under supervision for site preparation or material movement
- Maintain equipment and tools to ensure proper functioning and safety standards
- Support construction activities related to landscape features such as retaining walls or pathways.
Experience
- Prior experience in gardening, horticulture, or landscape maintenance is preferred but not required; training will be provided
- Mechanical knowledge or experience operating construction equipment such as excavators is a plus
- Familiarity with hand tools and power tools used in landscaping or construction projects is desirable
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and lift heavy materials when necessary
Hours would typically be 9-5 Monday to Friday During summer months. Winter on as needed basis. Must have clean driving record, this can turn into a year round position as a team lead for the walkway division of snow clearing operations.
Pay: $18.00-$20.00 per hour
