Duties
- Deliver comprehensive patient care by monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and assisting with daily activities.
- Collaborate with physicians, registered nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Perform clinical procedures such as phlebotomy (blood draws), wound care, and pain management interventions.
- Document patient information accurately using electronic health records systems like Epic and Cerner.
- Provide patient education on medication administration, health maintenance, and disease management.
- Support laboratory procedures and laboratory experience to facilitate diagnostic testing and results reporting.
Skills
- Proven experience in medical clinic nursing home, hospital, or acute care settings with a strong background in patient care
- Knowledge of medical terminology, medication protocols, and case management principles.
- Skilled in medical office procedures including medical documentation and electronic health record systems such as Accuro, considered as asset.
- Experience working with diverse populations including children, seniors, hospice patients, and those requiring dementia or hospice care.
- Competency in phlebotomy, laboratory procedures, pain management techniques, and medication administration.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and educate patients.
- Ability to adapt quickly to new environments while maintaining high standards of safety and quality of care.
