Urban Life Solutions is currently seeking a Heavy Duty 310T Mechanic to join our Fleet & Facility team in Ottawa. In this role, you will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing a variety of equipment used in landscaping, maintenance, construction, and snow & ice removal operations.
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on various types of vehicles and equipment
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues
- Use schematics and technical manuals to assist with repairs
- Assistances of Apprentices and opportunity to help teach and grow apprentices
- Weld and fabricate parts as needed
- Utilize power tools and hand tools to complete repairs
- Conduct inspections to identify potential issues or areas of improvement
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow
- Maintain accurate records of repairs and services performed
Experience:
- Previous experience as a mechanic, preferably in a dealership or similar setting
- Must possess valid driver’s license and a good driving record
- Fleet experience preferred
- Strong mechanical knowledge and understanding of vehicle systems
- Familiarity with Caterpillar equipment is a plus
- Proficient in electrical diagnostics and repairs
- Experience operating a forklift is preferred
- Ability to assemble and disassemble components accurately
