About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Intermediate Geotechnical Engineer to join our growing team in Southern Ontario.
You will play a key role in delivering geotechnical investigations and construction support for a wide range of projects including residential and commercial developments, high-rise developments, and municipal infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete geotechnical investigations, including drilling, sampling, and field testing programs
- Interpret subsurface conditions and prepare geotechnical reports
- Provide expertise in all aspects of geotechnical engineering such as foundation design, slope stability, earthworks, retaining structures, etc.
- Manage projects, including scope, schedule, budgets, and client communication
- Provide construction-phase services including site inspections and problem-solving
- Mentor and develop junior geotechnical staff
- Assist in building and expanding the geotechnical group, including supporting recruitment, training, and technical development initiatives
- Liaise with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies
- Support proposal writing and business development initiatives
Qualifications & Requirements
- Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Ontario (mandatory)
- Minimum 2+ years of geotechnical engineering experience, preferably in Southern Ontario
- Proven experience in residential, commercial, high-rise, and municipal projects
- Experience working within a consulting engineering environment is an asset
- Familiarity with Ontario standards and guidelines (e.g., OBC, MTO, local municipal requirements)
- Experience with geotechnical software (e.g., slope stability, settlement, and foundation analysis tools)
- Excellent technical writing and communication skills
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to project sites
