Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Journeyman Electrician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems across various projects, ensuring safety, compliance, and efficiency. Duties
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to execute electrical installations and repairs accurately.
- Install, troubleshoot, and maintain electrical systems including wiring, lighting, outlets, switches, and control panels in commercial and residential settings.
- Work with low voltage systems such as security alarms, fire alarm and communication lines to ensure proper operation.
- Use hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently to complete electrical tasks while adhering to all safety standards and codes.
- Conduct renovations by upgrading or modifying existing electrical systems to meet new requirements or improve performance.
- Diagnose electrical issues using schematics and technical manuals; perform repairs or replacements as needed.
- Collaborate with construction teams during new builds or renovations to ensure electrical components are installed correctly from the ground up.
Skills
- Proficient in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams for precise installation and troubleshooting.
- Extensive commercial and residential electrician experience with a strong understanding of complex electrical systems.
- Skilled in using hand tools, as well as power tools.
- Knowledge of low voltage wiring systems including security alarms and communication networks.
- Construction experience that includes working on new builds or renovation projects within commercial or residential environments.
- Ability to interpret schematics accurately for troubleshooting electrical issues quickly and effectively.
- Hands-on experience with renovation projects involving updating or upgrading existing electrical infrastructure.
- Familiarity with safety protocols related to electrical work and adherence to local codes and standards.
- Strong handyman skills that support a variety of maintenance tasks beyond core electrical responsibilities.
