Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Shift Supervisor to oversee daily operations within our retail environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a comprehensive understanding of store management. This role is vital in ensuring smooth store functions, maintaining high customer service standards, and leading a team to achieve sales and operational goals. The Shift Supervisor will be responsible for supervising staff, managing inventory, and ensuring compliance with company policies while fostering a positive shopping experience for customers.
Duties
- Lead and supervise store staff during assigned shifts, ensuring team members perform their duties effectively.
- Oversee daily store operations including merchandising, pricing, and inventory management.
- Manage cash handling procedures, POS transactions, and bookkeeping tasks accurately.
- Assist in recruiting, training, and developing team members to enhance their performance and skills.
- Ensure excellent customer service by addressing customer inquiries, resolving issues promptly, and maintaining professional phone etiquette.
- Monitor sales performance and implement strategies to meet or exceed sales targets.
- Coordinate marketing initiatives and promotional activities to increase store visibility and sales.
- Conduct regular staff meetings to communicate updates, policies, and expectations.
- Maintain organizational standards by supervising cleanliness, safety protocols, and compliance with health regulations.
- Handle administrative responsibilities such as scheduling, payroll processing, and budgeting support as needed.
- Support store management in implementing pricing strategies and merchandising plans to optimize sales.
Experience
- Proven supervisory or team management experience within retail or customer service environments.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Excellent communication skills in both English and multilingual capabilities are preferred.
- Experience with POS systems, cash handling, bookkeeping, and basic math skills required.
- Knowledge of marketing strategies, sales management, merchandising, purchasing, and store operations is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated leadership qualities including training & development expertise, budgeting capabilities, and effective time management.
- Prior experience in recruiting, interviewing new staff members, and supervising retail sales teams will be advantageous.
