Boundary Electric is looking for an experienced Purchasing Coordinator to join our Procurement team.
In this role, you will support the procurement of materials and components required for production by managing supplier relationships, creating purchase orders, coordinating deliveries, and ensuring materials arrive on time to support business operations. Working closely with Engineering, Operations, Project Management, Finance, Sales, Quality, and Logistics, you'll play an important role in maintaining an efficient and reliable supply chain.

Key Responsibilities
- Create, issue, and manage purchase orders using Oracle NetSuite, SAP, or a similar ERP system.
- Obtain supplier quotations, negotiate pricing, and manage purchase order changes.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with domestic and international suppliers.
- Monitor supplier performance, including delivery, quality, and cost.
- Follow up on purchase orders to ensure timely delivery and resolve supplier or invoice issues.
- Support vendor analysis, supplier development, and new product sourcing initiatives.
- Coordinate with Engineering on product specifications and purchasing requirements.
- Generate and review purchasing reports while identifying opportunities for process improvement.
- Develop purchasing strategies that support inventory and material availability.
- Identify and mitigate supply chain risks.
- Collaborate with Operations, Project Management, Finance, Sales, Quality, and Logistics to support business needs.
- Support international logistics and supplier coordination, including shipments from China.
- Ensure purchasing activities comply with company policies and procurement best practices.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- 5–10 years of purchasing, procurement, or sourcing experience.
- Hands-on experience creating Purchase Orders (POs) within an ERP system.
- Experience using Oracle NetSuite or SAP; experience with comparable ERP systems will also be considered.
- Experience managing international suppliers and procurement activities.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and vendor relationship management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Legally authorized to work in Canada.
Preferred Qualifications
- Fluent in Mandarin (spoken and written) is strongly preferred, as many of our suppliers are located in China.
- APAC purchasing or sourcing experience.
- Experience sourcing electrical equipment or industrial components.
- Knowledge of global logistics and international supply chains.
- Professional purchasing designation (SCMP, APICS, PMAC, etc.).
