Job Overview
The Retail Operations Lead is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of trucking, aggregate sales, equipment, and inventory management while providing exceptional service to customers, subcontractors, and employees. This role oversees the safe operation of loaders and scales, maintains equipment calibrations, manages stockpiles and swamp mat inventory, supports dispatch and sales activities, coordinates trucking logistics, and assists with employee and subcontractor oversight. The position also monitors maintenance and inspection programs, ensures accurate operational records and invoicing, maintains safe and organized work environments, and contributes to the overall efficiency, profitability, and success of the division through strong communication, organization, and independent decision-making.
Duties
- Provide direction and support to all customers, subcontractors, and PBN employees as needed.
- Safely operate equipment to complete the assigned tasks – including but not limited to stockpiling, moving equipment, loading gravel trucks, and unloading freight trailers.
- Operate and educate employees on all active loaders and scales.
- Maintain calibrations on scales and attachments.
- Police stockpile locations, including but not limited to ordering, receiving, producing and preserving sale-able materials.
- Monitor swamp mat activities, such as rental agreements, loading, cleaning, sorting, inspecting, and documenting.
- Fill-in for Dispatch and Sales with phone line and trucking schedule when requested.
- Provide support with trucking employees and subcontractors, including but not limited to holding meetings, reviewing paperwork, educating best practices, etc.
- Monitor division’s maintenance and inspection activities; control and report deficiencies.
- Investigate incomplete product, truck, and employee records for accurate data entry.
- Carry out critical elements of invoicing and payment procedures.
- Maintain overall safety and cleanliness of all trucking and retail locations.
- Manage time effectively while working independently.
- Maintain a positive attitude, contributing to the team’s morale in a constructive way.
Qualifications
- Hold a valid Class 5 Driver License, clear drivers abstract
- Experience operating a skidsteer, loader and heavy transport vehicles
- Able to lift at least 50 lbs
- Available to work weekends when required
