Norellco Contractors is an Edmonton-based company servicing heavy construction from small to large projects. Our underground division has a strong reputation for successfully installing shallow and deep, storm, water and sewer utilities in highly developed urban areas, and repairing existing infrastructure. A large portion of our projects are within Edmonton and surrounding areas.
We are currently seeking experienced Crew Members and Equipment Operators to join our construction team. Amongst the positions available are:
- Water & Sewer Pipe Layer
- Water & Sewer Pipe Layer Helper
- Top Person
- Skilled Labourers
- General Labourers
- Flag Person
- Foreman
- Mainline Hoe Operators
- Side Hoe Operators
- Loader Operators
- Finish Skid Steer Operators
General Responsibilities:
- Ensure all job tasks comply with health and safety policies.
- Attend site meetings to ensure understanding of job, safety and quality requirements.
- Operate heavy equipment in a safe and effective manner to minimize the risk of injury, property damage or loss of life.
- Operate equipment according to all relevant legislation, policies and procedures.
- Perform daily pre-use walk around equipment safety and maintenance checks.
- Record Keeping (equipment and maintenance inspections).
- Maintain cleanliness of heavy equipment as scheduled and/or required.
- Ensure heavy equipment is securely stored.
- Advise the onsite supervisor of any requirements for maintenance or repairs.
- Maintain inventory for equipment (I.e. track shovel, grease gun, oils and lubricants).
- Follow direction from supervisor.
- Demonstrate the ability to work independently as well as in a group, self-driven.
- Follow the approved plan to design and construct project.

Working Conditions:
- Some of these positions are identified as safety sensitive and may require pre-access drug and alcohol testing.
- Overtime and extended working hours may be required.
- Work conducted outdoors in diverse weather and ground conditions.
Candidate Minimum Requirements (For ALL Positions):
- Possess CSA-approved steel-toed boots, safety-vest and hard-hat.
- Valid class 5 driver’s license, clean driver’s abstract and reliable means of transportation.
- CSTS 2020 Training required.
- WHMIS 2015 Training required.
Additional Minimum Requirements (For Operators):
- Ground Disturbance Level II required.
- Basic Rigging Training required.
Additional Minimum Requirements (For Ground Crew):
- Fall Protection Training required
- Confined Space Monitor/ Rescue Training required.
Training/Skills Considered Assets:
- Basic Rigging Training considered an asset.
- H2S Alive Training considered an asset.
- Intermediate First Aid Training considered an asset.
