Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Waterproofing Specialist to join our construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for applying waterproofing materials and systems to protect structures from water intrusion, ensuring durability and longevity. Duties
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and applying primers to ensure optimal adhesion of waterproofing materials
- Install waterproof membranes, coatings, sealants, and caulking in accordance with project specifications
- Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to determine the correct application methods and materials needed for each project
- Use hand tools such as trowels, brushes, rollers, and cutting tools to apply waterproofing products accurately
- Collaborate with carpenters, plumbers, welders, and other trades to coordinate waterproofing tasks within broader construction or restoration projects
- Conduct inspections during and after application to ensure waterproofing integrity and identify areas needing touch-up or repair
- Assist in restoration projects by repairing or replacing damaged waterproofing systems as required
Skills
- Proficiency with hand tools used in waterproofing and general construction work
- Construction experience with a focus on waterproofing applications or related fields such as restoration or roofing
- Strong carpentry skills for surface preparation and structural adjustments
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately
- Knowledge of caulking techniques for sealing joints and cracks effectively
- Familiarity with plumbing systems and how they interact with waterproofing needs
- Experience with flooring installation, tile laying, or construction painting is a plus for comprehensive project support
- Ability to operate welding equipment when necessary for specialized waterproofing applications
- Understanding of schematics related to building systems to ensure proper integration of waterproofing solutions
