GTAdjusters has an immediate opening for an experienced Liability Adjuster for placement with an insurer client. This role involves the handling of Automobile Bodily Injury liability claims. The successful candidate will have experience adjusting Ontario insurer claims and be proficient in examining and resolving claims within a Liability Department. This is a remote position requiring use of the client’s claims management systems.
Exposures are of intermediate to senior level and the candidate will be experienced at adjusting within a department and managing exposure reports, posting notes, diary control, productions review, securing authority, determining liability and negotiating settlements. This is a long-term contract position with GTAdjusters.

Key Role Responsibilities:
- Investigate, evaluate, negotiate, and settle automobile and property bodily injury liability claims of varying complexity, including intermediate to senior-level exposures
- Determine liability, secure appropriate authority, manage exposure reports, and negotiate settlements within prescribed limits
- Maintain control of expenses through proactive claims handling and reserving practices
- Conduct and support technical audits to ensure quality, accuracy, activity levels, reserving adequacy, and expense management
- Identify and investigate subrogation opportunities where applicable
- Provide timely, accurate, and professional written and verbal communication with insureds, claimants, counsel, and insurer partners
- Maintain detailed file documentation, diary control, and compliance with insurer and regulatory standards
Qualifications and Experience:
- Claims adjusting experience with an insurance company, specializing in bodily injury liability
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience handling serious-level exposures
- Strong analytical skills, including cause-and-effect evaluation
- Advanced investigative capabilities
- Ability to interpret complex legal documents and perform advanced numerical and comparative analysis
- Advanced communication skills, including:
- Strong technical written communication
- Effective oral communication, interviewing, listening, and negotiation skills, with the ability to adapt style to the audience
- Demonstrated organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage competing demands
- Proactive, customer-focused approach with a strong sense of urgency and responsiveness
- Strong interpersonal, relationship-building, and conflict-resolution skills
