Responsibilities:
- Design & Analysis: Create detailed mechanical designs, blueprints and schematics using CAD Software, Perform complex analyses such as FEA (Fine Element Analysis) and CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) to predict and improve product performance
- Prototyping & Testing: Build and test initial prototypes of devices. Design test fixtures, execute experiment, and analyze data to optimize efficiency, durability, and cost
- Manufacturing & Production: Collaborate with manufacturing teams to oversee the fabrication and assembly of mechanical components. Develop custom tooling and optimize manufacturing
- Documentation & Compliance: Author technical manuals, generate product reports and ensure all designs comply with government and industry regulations (e.g. , ANSI, ASME)
- Cross Functional Collaboration: Partner with electrical engineers, software developers, and project managers to integrate mechanical systems into broader projects
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor of Science, Required. Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering, preferred
- Experience: 3-5 years of proven experience in mechanical design and product development
- Software Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of 3D modeling and CAD software
- Engineering Principals: Deep understanding of mechanical engineering concepts, including fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, kinematics, and material science. Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and practices
- Problem Solving: Critical thinking and analytical skills to diagnose root causes of equipment failures
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
