Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Dental Assistant to join our team. This position is a full time position. As a Dental Assistant, you will work closely with our dentists and dental hygienists to provide exceptional patient care. You will be also be trained a sterilization floater. Your main responsibilities will include assisting with dental procedures, maintaining patient records, sterilization and ensuring a clean and organized dental office environment.
Duties:
- Assist the dentist during dental procedures, including preparing the treatment area, sterilizing instruments, and handing instruments to the dentist as needed
- Take digital dental x-rays
- Prepare materials for impressions and restorations
- Provide chairside assistance during procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-operative care instructions
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records using electronic dental software (Abeldent)
- Schedule patient appointments and manage the dental office calendar
- Perform basic administrative tasks such as managing patient billing
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of a dental assistant program preferred
- Previous experience as a dental assistant is highly desirable
- Knowledge of dental procedures and terminology
- Familiarity with Abeldent or similar dental software is a plus
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism and compassion for patients
