Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated, reliable and hardworking individual to join our team as our Class 1 Driver responsible for pickup & Delivery of heavy equipment. In this role, you will be responsible for loading, unloading, & operation of the equipment. Safely transporting short or long distances. Ability of changing roles from Class 1 to yardman helping out when present at the shop. Assist in loading and unloading customers, general maintenance of equipment
Duties and Responsibilities
- Load & Unload equipment, secure loaded equipment CVSE requirements
- Deliver & Pick up equipment
- Maintain accurate delivery & pick up records
- Double check delivered items to make sure customers receive exactly what they ordered
- Inspection of equipment upon pick up
- Perform & Maintain vehicle inspections daily, along with: checking fuel, oil and other fluids
- Organize equipment in the yard
- Check equipment for damage upon return, report damage and fill out service tags for all returned equipment
- Always willing to offer a helping hand with your co-workers, in all departments
Qualifications and Requirements
- Class 1 License with a clean or satisfactory driver's abstract (no more than 3 demerit points) You will be required to provide a copy of your updated driver's abstract upon request
- Familiar with local roads
- Experience moving heavy loads is an asset
- Very customer oriented
- Professional and courteous
- Thrives in a fast paced environment with strict deadlines
- Mechanical aptitude is an asset
- Must be comfortable working outdoors
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to converse with colleagues, customers and other parties in a professional and courteous manner
- Must be available to working on odd Saturdays and on an on-call rotation
