Role Summary
Reporting to the Project Product Integration Department, the Junior Product Integration coordinator & Technical Writer is responsible for architecting and coordinating technical solutions from inception to delivery, while producing clear, accurate, and visually compelling technical documentation. This role bridges creative, technical, and operational stakeholders — translating complex product and engineering information into Installation Guides and Operation Manuals that meet SACO's quality standards. AI tools are available to support day-to-day tasks such as documentation drafting, visual content generation, and workflow automation.
Key Responsibilities
A. Product Integration Coordination.
- Architect and coordinate technical solutions and manage development efforts from project inception through to delivery, ensuring alignment with client objectives and SACO’s standards.
- Use Vectorworks and/or CAD software to develop technical drawings
- Use Creative Cloud suit software to develop project documentation
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams — designers, engineers, strategists, and external partners — to bring innovative ideas to life.
- Track project milestones and issues proactively; develop mitigation and contingency plans to keep deliverables on schedule.
- Manage multiple concurrent projects of varying scope while maintaining clear priorities and organized stakeholder communication.
- Prepare and maintain precise project documentation accessible to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Serve as a responsive point of contact for internal and external stakeholders — acknowledge communications promptly and follow up diligently.
- Listen to client and partner visions and translate them into concrete, executable plans with measurable outcomes.
B. Technical Writing & Documentation
- Receive technical inputs from the Design Team — including engineering drawings, 3D models, and step-by-step process documentation — and transform them into polished Installation Guides and Operation Manuals.
- Modify and adapt technical drawings and graphic assets using Adobe Creative Cloud tools (primarily InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop) to suit documentation standards and end-user needs.
- Use SolidWorks to extract independent views and visuals from 3D models when required, ensuring documentation accurately reflects product geometry and assembly details.
- Lay out and format all final documentation in Adobe InDesign, maintaining consistency with SACO's templates, style guides, and brand standards.
- Collaborate closely with engineers, product designers, and project managers to verify technical accuracy of all content.
- Ensure that documentation is clear, complete, and suitable for both technical installers and end-user audiences.
- Manage document version control and maintain an organized archive of all technical publications.
Academic Background
A specific degree is not required; however, candidates must demonstrate a solid technical foundation in one of the following areas:
- Technical studies, coursework, or equivalent hands-on experience in Engineering, Architecture, Industrial Design, or a closely related discipline.
- A practical understanding of engineering principles, technical drawing interpretation, and spatial/mechanical reasoning is essential.
Work Experience
- 1–2 years of experience in project coordination, technical integration, or technical documentation roles.
- Prior exposure to AV, lighting, staging, or technology integration environments is a strong asset.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects with competing priorities simultaneously.
- Experience producing technical documents such as installation guides, manuals, or similar publications is an asset.
Specific Knowledge & Technical Skills
- Adobe Creative Cloud — intermediate proficiency required, with emphasis on InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop.
- SolidWorks — ability to navigate models and extract views for documentation purposes.
- Vectorworks and/or CAD software — ability to read and develop technical drawings.
- Solid command of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
- Understanding of basic electronics, electrical principles, and rigging techniques.
- Familiarity with ERP or project management tools is an asset.
- Passion for emerging technologies; stays current with industry trends and their application.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted tools (e.g. generative text, image, or design tools) applied to documentation or creative workflows is a strong asset.
